Manga Mania

wiredcover.jpgYou'll be hearing a lot about manga in this space over the next six months. Today marks the start of the onslaught, er, conversation. To the right is the cover of the November issue of Wired, which is hitting newsstands and mailboxes as I type. There's a great 10-page "Manga 101" piece by Jason Thompson. (BTW, whether you're a veteran manga fan or a curious newbie, Thompson's book is a must-read.) The issue also has a story I wrote, based on my stint in Japan this spring, about the legions of copyright-busting amateur comic creators who are shaking up Japan's pop culture machine. And in semi-related news, word of my next project has begun to trickle out. You can read a nice preview here.
