I don’t like talking about bestseller lists. (It’s not that I’m modest. It’s that I’m superstitious.) But A Whole New Mind continues to put some solid numbers on the board — so I figured I’d risk angering the spirits by raising the topic.

AWNM has been on the BusinessWeek bestseller list for four consecutive months, clocking in this month at #9. We’ve been hitting (the bottom of) the New York Times list — for example, #13 two weeks ago, #15 next week. And today the book takes the bronze at The Washington Post: it’s #3 on the paperback nonfiction list.

To be sure, there’s a certain bogosity to bestseller lists (for instance, they measure velocity, not distance — and they’re often tinkered with to keep out ‘unworthy’ titles.) But hitting these lists is still a nice recognition. To those of you who’ve bought AWNM, many thanks.
