What would this be as a percentage of population? Is that what’s going on here or do you think it is something else?
The China figures are obviously a small percentage of the total population — say, about 10 percent. The U.S. figures represent about 16 percent. What’s interesting — to me at least — is that it’s another confirmation of the law of large numbers. If even a relative small portion of China takes an action, that’s still a huge number of people and a very healthy market.
India is another good market. Daily newspaper sales: 99 million copies.
