Today’s NY Times has an excellent story on colleges and universities offering majors in video games. Says one Carnegie Mellon professor, “When we first got the program started, we worried about if these hardcore geeks would be able to communicate with the artists. But now we find it common to see applications from people who have an undergraduate major in computer science and a minor in visual arts, or a major in music and a minor in computer science. The students have actually been doing this right brain-left brain crossover on their own.”
