Plays
In 2024, after more than two decades of writing books, Dan began writing plays for the stage. He now has two plays in development, which you can read about below, and is at work on a third.

FIELDER’S CHOICE
A comic drama in the tradition of God of Carnage and Eureka Day that asks: How far will parents go to help their kids get ahead?
At a high-stakes youth baseball tournament, the real action isn’t on the field. It’s in the bleachers. As the innings roll by, four anxious parents and one philosophical umpire wrestle with class, race, and ambition—all while their unseen kids chase a shot at 12-and-under glory.
With biting dialogue, unhinged characters, and a Chekhovian radar gun, Fielder's Choice offers an unnerving and sharply funny look at America’s two-tiered system of opportunity, the emotional toll of optimization culture, and what it means to be a parent in a world where every at-bat feels like a referendum on your child’s future.

JULIA C
A razor-edged reimagining of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, set inside a high-flying artificial intelligence startup.
When the charismraatic CEO of Emor AI drops a hidden clause in the company’s IPO filing that grants her absolute power, her co-founders must choose: stay loyal to their friend — or protect the republic they built together?
This darkly comic, high-voltage drama pulses with betrayal, ambition, deepfakes, meme stocks, and a YouTube influencer named Velvet Cobra. At once a hilarious sendup of corporate culture and a searing exploration of power in the algorithm age, Julia C asks: In a world where truth is malleable and leadership is a brand, who deserves to rule?
