Factoid of the day: Maybe online music isn’t a fad

Since its debut in 2003, Apple’s iTunes has sold more than 5 billion songs — an average of more than 100,00 songs per hour every our for the last five years.  (Source: Wired.com, 6/19/08)

    From the “It’s a small world” department: I’d seen that on Wired but hadn’t raised it much above my subconscience; still your mention now dovetails with my post earlier today that mentioned both iTunes and you.

    Who in their right mind, in 2008 (or even 2007), would think online music is just a fad? Record company executives?
