Careful readers of AWNM know about that Rainbow Project, an alternative SAT, that is often a better predictor of college grades than the mainstream test. Part of the Rainbow Project involves giving test-takers blank New Yorker cartoons and asking them to write captions. It’s an interesting exercise in R-Directed thinking — which is one reason I like following the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest.

Sometimes I even enter.

And sometimes I think I should win. Like Contest #123. When I saw the three lame finalists for this one, I was outraged. So outraged, in fact, that I’ve posted the cartoon here with my own caption. Feel free to launch your own protest to the magazine. I have.
