My iPhone photos from today’s ceremonies here in D.C. aren’t very good, but this one’s a keeper — in part because the woman pictured here is standing on the steps of Constitution Hall, site of the notorious Marian Anderson incident.

It was a historic day indeed with the inauguration of Barack Obama and now Obama will have to sit down and to tackle the problems facing the United States of America. The economy, oil, jobs and two wars will all be Obama’s focal points during his historic first 90 days in office. The changing of the guard will hopefully equal an end to the crisis.
we made history man…. can u believe this…. we can finally have a change in this world… we are depending on Barack Obama… hope all is well in office… and no more segregation… lol… all the race’s are ok now… no more getting divided up… i love America…. yeah right jus kidn…

Your Blog is streaming onto the lens, too.
Gotta love it!!
It was an awesome moment, wasn’t it?
My 90 yr. old grandmother called from Ecuador (South America) to congratulate me on Obama’s election!
I LOVE THIS! Well, it certainly should have been a keeper!
Just opened up Oprah’s Feb. issue and saw a snippet about you. I missed your interview with her and want to read it. I’m sure I can find it on her site.
I have a master’s in art ed. and am a working artist and teacher of women in the twin cities area. I can’t tell you how rewarding this painting and teaching journey has been for me.
I am going to look into your books to give to my students!
Nice to meet you!
Best!
