Factoid of the day: Does Madoff have an MBA?
“A study of cheating among graduate students, published in 2006 in the journal Academy of Management Learning & Education, found that 56 percent of all M.B.A. students cheated regularly— more than in any other discipline.”
(Source: NY Times, 3/15/09)
I wonder though, do MBA students cheat more that other graduate students, or are they just more willing to admit that they’ve cheated?
If MBA students think that “everyone else [is] doing it” as the Times article says, it seems possible that they’re also less ashamed about admitting the behavior than other potential disciplines.
Funny. I was just saying that to a medically retired bodyshop guy. It was 40some percent when I went to UIUC; the banking crisis seemed to indicate we were above the majority.
For all the money taxpayers put into university educations, something like the West Point Honor Code seems little to ask.
More difficult to cheat with an MFA I suppose.
