Hi Dan,
Thanks for another great Pinkcast and another simple tool.
Lou Prosperi
Thanks, Dan. Something so simple yet effective.
This is a great idea, even for a semi-retired guy like me! 🙂 Thank you, sir.
Love all these valuable videos. Thank you! You are the best!
Dan, love your Pinkcast! Always worth watching! Thanks for another good tip.
Great advice. Really like the rapid tools to help us all stay more focused!
This reminds me of the Pomodoro Technique. Pick a task and set a timer to help stay focused.
Thanks Dan!!
I’ve been using an excellent Android app for years, which is now called “MindBell.”
A mere “beep?” Fuhgedaboudit. MindBell is sooo much richer than that. It’s a real life sounding meditation gong. The app even enables me to set a meditation period. And I can choose any time interval, along with start and stop times throughout the week.
Love it! Thanks for mentioning the name Lowell!
Thanks Lowell, for the tip — have just downloaded the Mindbell app!
Extremely helpful, right now at minute 18… Thanks!
I like! Thank you for simplicity in action.
Simple, yet effective! Great idea.
I need a 30 minute beep, sometimes less.
Love the “Beep”, and so true, the way to be focused is to block time and turn everything on silent, then check your phone on your time, not on someone else’s time. It’s the same as when someone calls us, we hate the caller because they are taking our time away from us. Text us and we will call you back at our convenience.
Thanks! So important! Now just checking how to install the hourly beep:-)
This opens up all kinds of new possibilities… I set an alarm to check email four times a day….and try to ignore mail until the beep goes off….this could be interesting! Thanks!
simple yet effective (what? did I hear a beep??) Got to run!
Name of author not clearly stated …. sounds like Peter Brightman !
Straightforward and sensible. Great!. Thanks Dan!
Great tip, Dan!! Love it!!
I love Pincasts! Short and straight to the point. No video adverts, adds or re-directing websites!
Dan, thank you for this suggestion.
Do you have any suggested apps that are good at this task? For example so I can schedule the hourly beep just during work hours and weekdays…
Thanks again and have a great day!
Thanks, Dan. Pinkcast to the rescue! I could use a tip like this. I’ve also been learning when my brain has higher cognitive power and moving my difficult and priority tasks to that time of the day (mornings 5-10am for me). The hourly beep will provide me a gentle reminder to ask myself the question, take a deep breath, and, blink my eyes!
I put this into practice today and I can’t believe how focussed it made me!
Ticked off most of my to do list and it’s only just lunch time…
The best tip so far – thanks!!
Awesome advice! You should write for http://www.forbes.com/
At first I thought… that’s going to be annoying… then I thought, if I am focusing my energy in the right area, it’s kinda like a pat on the back! Going to give it a try tomorrow. We’ll see what happens!
The hourly beep helps us stay focused and allows us to manage distraction. Nice podcast. Cheers, Ramkumar.
