  • Factoid of the day: Women rule (at last)

    New Hampshire’s State Senate has become the first legislature in U.S. history with a female majority. After Tuesday’s election, the legislative body consists of 13 women and 11 men.

      South Carolina has gone in exactly the opposite direction: Down to no women at all among its 46 members.

      I am pleased to see that the US are following behind, and maybe even taking the lead. I Norway we have for many years had high female representation, but it is still a challenge.

      might have something to do with the fact that NH state legislators are not paid.

      Now that Elena Kagan has been appointed to the highest court, there are three women serving on the higest court in the land.
